Admin VC Drop In Time

I have just started this project last week.

Administrators in our district (approx 30+) agreed to and showed interested in using our video conferencing suites on a regular basis (once/week) for a drop-in time.

This is an informal and casual forum for administrators to share ideas and successes in regards to technology in their schools.

I've also started a wiki for this group as well.

Here administrators have reviewed the tentative agenda and even added or revised it prior to the event. This is a great tool for such an event.

I will use this wiki to summarize meetings and give users a chance to indicate if they intend on joining or items to the agenda.

There has already been interest in establishing other drop-in times for curriculum meetings. Ie; Math 30 etc..

It's a great opportunity for administrators just to talk. Our district is so large, geographically, and this tool is helping to break down barriers.

 

Project time frame

Every Tuesday 4pm. Agendas are established via wiki 4 days prior.

 

How to sign up

We've actually had a few guest speakers already. I'd be more than willing to welcome anyone that would like to join us as a guest to share a few words of encouragement or offer invitations to projects of their own. Just contact myself via email gsmith@pallisersd.ab.ca

Learner Outcomes

This is just for admninistrators at this point in time. My goals are to help school leaders become more comfortable with the technology, see the potential and encourage their teachers to participate/instigate VC projects of their own.

All materials available on wiki. No special materials needed.

 

Videoconference Details.

Time: 30-45 min starting at 4:00pm MST

Responsibilities: Share ideas and successes with technology related items in their schools. Discuss and brainstorm.

This is an awesome idea -- I'd love to hear how the adminstrator respond after meeting a couple of times, and of course idea great technology integration ideas that you can share with us! Getting people comfortable with technology is such a huge step!
